Making A Purchase Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our Catalog, and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on "Order" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.

We accept credit card payment. If you are shopping from North America or anywhere else, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to US Dollars or your own currency.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Visa Delta and Switch/Maestro. We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. Backordered items are not charged until they are shipped.

## Important note:

(1) If you choose "Credit Card details sent separately" we cannot assemble your order until we receive your card details. Please send details by phone or fax. DO NOT email your card details.

(2) If you choose "Cheque/Postal Order Sent Separately" we cannot assemble your order until we receive your card details.

Payments by Cheque or Postal Order must be in GBP £ Pounds Sterling, drawable from a UK Bank.

Cheques must be made payable to "Scientific Wire Company", please write on the back your order number.

Orders will be charged on day of despatch and are all charged in GBP Pounds Sterling.

Prices in Euros on this site are published to give an indication of the price in that currency - we will only charge the GBP amount, so the price converted back to EUROS may be different due to currency fluctuations and/or your payment processor applying extra charges (eg. bank charges, credit card exchange rate commission charges).

We only charge in GBP Pounds Sterling - payment received must match the GBP value of your order.

If payment is made by a credit card registered in another currency, the order will be charged in GBP and the card issuer will convert the GBP order amount back to your currency at their published rate & foreign exchange charges.

Shipping And Handling FOR SHIPPING TO UK ADDRESSES:

Shipping and handling charge for delivery in the UK is from £2.80 (500g Small Packet via "Royal Mail 2nd Class Post")

Online orders also have the following special P&P rates:

"POST FREE" on certain items.

"POST FREE" is only applicable to orders placed via the website.

Online prices are for website orders only.

Prices for offline orders (verbal/fax/email) can be subject to surcharges due to extra overheads involved.

We also offer a Interlink Express "Pack" Service which are specially discounted from our standard rates for orders upto 4kgs.

If you select any of the "Carrier" shipping methods please ensure that there will be someone at the delivery address to sign for the goods. The carrier will only deliver to the address specified as per your order. If no one is at the address they will leave a card for you to contact them. The carrier will attempt one more delivery before returning the goods to us. If goods are returned back to us, we will forward you any return carriage charge and (if goods are still required) a re-delivery charge.

Please ensure the correct region is selected, ie. Scottish Higlands or Not-Scottish Highlands. We are unable to check the validity of a region, so if it is incorrect, any extra charges by the carrier or post office will be added to your order and the difference to be paid.

For payments methods that does not allow you to select the correct region (eg Paypal) there maybe extra surcharge on carriage for regions not in: England (mainland), Wales, Scotland (not highlands/islands). We will contact you regarding this.

## Please note: If the order value exceeds £50.00, we reserve the right to change and charge accordingly the delivery method from a non-trackable (eg Royal Mail 1st Class Post) to a trackable service (eg. Royal Mail Special Delivery, Interlink Express or Parcelforce).

## UK Customers only: We regret we can no longer send orders over £50.00 containing Silver by "Royal Mail 1st Class Post". For any order that exceeds £50.00 worth of Silver, please select "Royal Mail Special Delivery" as your shipping method. If we receive an order over £50.00 containing Silver with shipping method "Royal Mail 1st Class Post", the shipping will be changed to "Royal Mail Special Delivery" and any difference in the charges will be applied to the invoice.

For "Royal Mail Parcels": Royal Mail will deliver within 3 to 5 working days from time of despatch.

For those who don't want to use a Carrier, you can opt for this shipping method, however this service is not collected with our usual Royal Mail daily postal collection, and has to be physically taken to a Post Office for delivery - this may take upto additional 3 working days from time of invoice.

When choosing shipping method, shipping method times are not a guarantee of how quickly you will receive the item from time of order. Those times are only valid from time of despatch, see further below under "Delivery Schedule" for order assembling, picking and despatch times - if goods are required by a certain date, please enter those details in the "Special Order Instructions" box during checkout.

If your order only consists of "POST FREE" items, zero carriage is only available for "Royal Mail 1st Class Post" option.

For Royal Mail 1st Class Post:

Royal Mail quotes : "we aim to deliver the next working day, with a small minority within three working days."

The online system will calculate the carriage for you during checkout.

We cannot ship to any International PO Box address.

"POST FREE" offers are only valid for deliveries to the UK only.

Delivery Schedule Most orders are processed and despatched within 1 working day of receipt of order.

Bespoke items that require re-winding or metering may take longer.

In all other cases we will endeavour to deliver as soon as all items are available as required.

Back Orders Sometimes items can be sold out before we can update the site, so if your item is out of stock, we will contact you by email.
Tax Charges For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 20.0% VAT is added.

For EU VAT registered customers, there is an option during the checkout to zero the VAT and enter in your VAT number.

For all overseas NIL VAT will be applied on your order; and normally VAT/DUTY payable at delivery.
Credit Card Security During checkout, the website will be a secured site

( check the address changes from : "http://" to "https://" ).

All checkout details sent thorugh the secured site are ENCRYPTED using 256 BIT ENCRYPTION. Encryption makes all data unclear for unauthorized people to view information travelling between computers. The information is encrypted before being transmitted over the internet. They are decrypted when the details reach us. They are not held in clear text on any web site.

Cookies are used on this shopping site to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart once you have selected an item, to store delivery addresses if the address book is used and to store your details if you select the 'Remember Me' Option. Returns Policy The customer must inspect the products as soon as possible after direct delivery. If there is noticeable damage on a delivery where a signature is required, please sign the delivery "RECEIVED DAMAGED".

Your rights to return goods are protected under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations.

You are entitled to cancel your order within 14 days and return the goods within a further 14 days for a full refund of goods plus basic cost of delivery. Do this by contacting us by email and quoting the order number supplied to you. Your refund will be paid within 30 days. You are responsible for the cost and risk of loss or damage when returning the goods, so you should take out enough postal insurance to cover their value. This cancellation policy does not affect your rights when we are at fault - for example, if goods are faulty or misdescribed.

Any goods returned should be in saleable condition.

These terms apply to your order. We may change our terms and conditions at any time, so please do not assume that the same terms will apply in the future.

None of these terms affect your legal rights and these are not diminished in any way. If any term is held to be invalid under any applicable statute or rule of law, that term is automatically omitted from the terms to minimum extent necessary to comply with the law and without affecting the validity or enforceability of the remainder.

We are unable to refund items that are made specially for an order

(eg. Items sold in specific metres or kilos, ie 3 mtr Silver Wire is a specially made order)

Please ensure all returns are packed well for a safe return with a covering letter quoting the order number.

For all returns: Return carriage is the responsibility of the buyer. For an order that was sent by carrier and is subsequently refused, any charges from the carrier relating to a "refusal" and the order's return will be deducted from any refund that is due on the material.
